The City welcomes a large influx of tourists and outdoor recreational enthusiasts seasonally, looking to experience the vast natural wonders, and recreational and sporting opportunities that the Columbia River Gorge offers.
Message from Chief Neal Holste
The Hood River Police Department is committed to providing the best possible service for its community. We are dedicated to prioritizing our efforts and maximizing our assets. No matter what, we always strive to do our best in addressing issues that impact those we serve.
We are a value-based Police Department, meaning we rely on a set of values — our Core Values — to help guide how we function and serve the community we work for. We believe this provides us both the liberty and the ability to act on behalf of the common good. We genuinely hope that our value-based organization will be evident to the people we serve each day. I believe in return, HRPD staff can be proud to work here, representing the community.
